JMC 2033 is a vital course at the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College. You must successfully complete this course to continue your education of upper division courses in the Gaylord College. This course is a three credit hour course. It will be one of the most challenging and rewarding three-hour credit courses of your life. This course includes lab and lecture sections that meet two days a week each. There is a quiz at the beginning of each lecture period. The course will keep you on your toes. Participating in each session will be vital to your grade. It will be easy to fall behind.
The challenge of this course comes from keeping up with the assignments and quizzes that are very fast pace. You may think you are a good, even great writer. This course will challenge you. You will find yourself becoming more aware of your writing. You will learn to catch mistakes and habits you have created over the years and develop them into clear and meaningful writing pieces.
Learning AP style in this course will be greatly beneficial to you throughout your entire career. Even if that career does not directly evolve writing a lot. You will be developed into a more conscious writer. You will become more aware of your writing habits and how to develop new ones. There are several different ways to write. Especially when it comes to writing professionally. You will also develop skills and techniques needed in your major though taking this course.
