"Take this out. You don't need that. Change this," said my Journalism professor.
Be concise and clear; get the information out there. No painting with words. Journalistic writing has creative limitations. You cannot write a full page describing a burglary. No one cares what the burglar wore, but if a person was injured. My struggle is the lack of room for creativity, and using it in journalistic conventions. People simply want the facts.
